In training processes related to technology and engineering, the application of active teaching methodologies may involve deeper learning of the concepts taught, thereby improving the acquisition of corresponding competences. Within these methodologies, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the most successful techniques.
In this communication, the results of a teaching innovation project implemented at the University of Jaén are presented, where a modification of this methodology is proposed, substituting the word "Problem" for "Project", since the future work of the engineering student will be based mainly on the development of technical solutions following the methodologies of the project theory.
On the basis of this pedagogical framework, a PBL action is proposed, where by means of a joint experimental collaboration between the secondary and university levels, a project will be developed in which the photovoltaic electricity generation potential of an institute will be analysed, substituting its electrical demand for the energy generated with this renewable source.
A novelty of this project is that the transfer of knowledge to secondary school students will be carried out mostly by university students
