The vertical jump is a test widely used in sports to evaluate the power or explosive strength of the lower extremities. There are several methods of vertical jump that relate to athletic performance in disciplines where strength and power is important, such as soccer, volleyball, etc. The objective of this project was to develop a software prototype that allows the construction of "Low Cost" devices for measuring vertical jump in sport by using the built in accelerometer SmartPhones as hardware device to record the flight time and subsequent validation with direct methods based on "Data Integration force-time". To fulfil these objectives, the project has been developed using techniques based on the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) from PMI (Project Management Institute) and the guidelines of good practice of prototyping methodologies.
