The aim of this paper is to show a tool of planning activities for the execution of building projects based on the occupation of physical space and resource availability.
The tool was developed to prove a new view of the planning and the execution control in the building projects, besides to ease the handling of a work breakdown structure with hundreds of rows. It was established that the relation between activities, predecessor and successor, is only finish to start, without the possibility to plus or subtract days, to ensure that the execution process is programmed in the correct sequence.
As a result, it was obtained a tool that makes easier the view in four planning dimensions of a lot of activities: The activities sequence in each site zone; the workflow throughout the distinct areas of work; the identification of inactivity, in order to justify and optimize them; the easier view of the building process through a matrix of areas and control activities. The tool includes the ability to export to MS Project for a conventional display Gantt bars.
