Since the introduction of the Dependency Structure Matrix (DSM) to schedule project it has been an increased interest in its application, including applications in the construction industry and the incorporation of uncertainty in the variables. However, the developed equations include only the estimation of the earliest start and earliest finish of projects without and with natural overlap. Also, only the finish to start dependency between activities has been considered. This study aims to expand the use of DSM in project scheduling. To this end, in this paper equations to determine the early and late start/finish (and activities float) are developed. This includes projects without overlap, with natural overlap, and with forced overlap (and therefore rework). In addition, different types of dependencies between activities are considered: finish to start, start to start and finish to finish. Hypothetical examples are used to illustrate the use of equations.
