This proposed work is part of the innovation research in intelligent systems and sustainable manufacturing, focusing on the worker, with the aim of developing a neuroscientific model for the application of Kansei-Chisei Engineering in Lean manufacturing environments in the metal-mechanical sector. This proposal involved in expanding the concept of ergonomics applied to the work environments, which has evolved from the classical concepts of ergonomics or physical ergonomics to other related with incorporating emotional and rational aspects in interaction with design. In the field of ergonomics, the design of work environments and products has evolved from a rational design practice focused exclusively on efficiency approaches, to the emotional perspective by incorporating affective design solutions with Kansei Engineering. The main objectives for methodological development based on Kansei-Chisei Engineering for application to design Lean manufacturing environments in plant level (macro), work station level (meso) and tools level (micro) will be described as well as its main background, current state of art and objectives.
