One of the main issues arising nowadays during the implantation of prosthesis in the musculoskeletal system by means of surgery-related procedures is its biomechanical stability. In the particular case of the prosthesis-femur set, there exist the need of proposing geometric models that permit a reliable analysis of its functionality by using finite elements. The present communication proposes to obtain an actual geometric model of a prosthesis-femur set by using computational geometry techniques, which permits to perform, by means of finite elements, a posterior simulation of its biomechanical behavior under the action of various load regime. The generated model has been validated with various load regime, becoming a model extremely useful for the orthopedic physician, providing the possibility of predicting the biomechanical stability of the prosthesis-femur set against the displacements, efforts and deformations that this kind of transplant can suffer.
