Technical college undergraduates have as main professional reference their integration inside private companies or the liberal exercise of their profession. Socially and academically, they are not encouraged or, in many cases, informed of the possibility of exercising its profession as public employees where they will develop or direct projects of all kinds of size for the different Administrations of their country.
Based on the principle of the current European Space of Higher Education (EHEA), training focused on employability is placed as a fundamental pillar of new university studies. Consequently, we have taken the determination to create a course of the Official Master in Industrial Engineering called: “Engineering and the Public Administration" in the Universidad de Málaga
We want to show the results of a teaching program in which we detail the different positions that engineers can occupy in this sector -Europe, State, Autonomous Community and Local Administrations- along with their related tasks and ingress mechanisms.
It is developed planning several conferences where public employees of these entities where they detail this information based on their personal experience and it is complemented with practical exercises where students are trained to face public competitions (oppositions, merit contests,…) from the position of engineers.
