Companies that carry out projects for the design and construction of rail vehicles participate in contracting procedures, both public and private, in different countries of the world. This means that they are affected in each of the procedures by different technical, economic, social and regulatory requirements, which creates different risks, which must be identified and analyzed, in order to have more information to decide the participation or not in procurement procedures.
The objective of this communication is to present, through a case study, a methodology for the identification, analysis and subsequent evaluation of the risks that appear during the preparation phase of the tenders for projects of design and construction of railway vehicles. Given the influence of many factors as well as the uncertainty of the available data, the methodology is based on the combination of fuzzy logic and a multicriteria decision-making technique, such as the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)
The proposed methodology will determine the risk level of the project, providing the company with information to make decisions about participation in the tendering process.
