Current factories dedicated to food products, and especially those that handle agricultural products, need a system to remove a great amount of unwanted elements (sand, roots, insects, etc.), as well as products in bad state. This kind of systems is used at the beginning of the production lines. In particular, in the case of companies aimed at processing strawberries, several machines are used to achieve this objective: two rafts at different height, where the cleaning process is carried out, and an inspection belt, where defective products are discarded. At present, this system presents several problems, as product blocking when transferring from machine to machine, a high energy consumption, or the great space required for all the machines. For these reasons, the present communication proposes the design of an integrated system for cleaning and inspecting strawberries to be able to integrate the described functions in a unique machine, being this system also applicable to other fruits and vegetables.
