A correct use of Project Management methodologies has a key role in the case of public calls for collaborative R&D projects, as those financed with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF), given by either their strict financial control requirements or the complexity of managing multi-stakeholder partnerships. In this context, PORTOS (Ports Towards Energy Self-Sufficiency) comes up as a project that seeks the implementation of Marine Renewable Energies as a solution for the existing energetic and environmental problems of the Ports within the European Atlantic Area. The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) actively participates in the PORTOS’ partnership as one of the main partners in this project. Resulting from this participation, the present work comes up, whose objective is to stablish a methodological basis in the form of Project Management Plan which allows that PORTOS to be completed according to its planification, establishing the appropriate measures so as to evaluate its performance, and serving as an additional source expanding USC’s know-how regarding its function as a body which participates in research projects, and reaffirming the versatility of Project Management methodologies.
