Residential buildings built in the middle of the last decade, at the height of the real estate bubble, must fulfil the global thermal transmission coefficient of the building (Kg) according to the Basic Building Standard (NBE) CT-79 about thermal conditions in buildings, previous to the implementation of the Basic Document of Energy Saving of the Technical Building Code (CTE DB-HE) in 2006. This policy framework has been updated in Royal Decree 732/2019 on energy, introducing a new global coefficient of heat transmission through the building's thermal envelope (Klim). Using the case study methodology, the energy efficiency of a typical single-family building in each of the 785 municipalities of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia is analysed, comparing the differences found in the insulation requirements resulting from compliance with both coefficients. Furthermore, the results obtained from the official climate data of the corresponding climate zones provided by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge in its Unified Tool LIDER-CALENER (HULC) are compared with the real data extracted from the nearest weather stations of the Agro-climatic Information System for Irrigation (SiAR).
