    Abstract
Natural grasslands have a great effect on reducing air pollution and a positive impact on the quality of citizens life. Likewise, the natural sports turf has an advantage for the environment and a great sporting importance. An efficient and sustainable maintenance of turfgrass surfaces (ornamental and sports) requires the use of intelligent strategies that employ resources nedeed at appropriate time, place and quantity, on one hand, and on the other by selecting species most tolerant to limited growth conditions and with less demands. Therefore, the objective of our project is focused on the use of new technologies to improve the management of resources (irrigation, fertilization, herbicides) and reducing significantly maintenance costs of turfgrass surfaces, as well as the comparison in growth of different grass mixtures to select those adapted to our climatic conditions. Different physiological characteristics will be evaluated to estimate the development of vegetation through spectroradiometry and digital terrestrial images and those obtained from drone flights. The water status of the plants will be also evaluated with measurements of plant canopy temperature by infrared thermometry and thermal images obtained from drone flights.
