The selection of water resources for hydrological restoration of wetlands can be based on physico-chemical parameters. They must represent the quality and characteristics of water resources. The number of parameters chosen should not be too high or expensive to obtain. Different physico-chemical indices are compared. Traditionally, indices have been used to determine water quality, both considering the use of water and the conservation of aquatic life. In view of the above, a list of physico-chemical parameters is proposed to assess the suitability of water resources for wetland conservation and restoration.
