Digital transformation has brought new challenges and new opportunities for improvement to the current project management methodologies. As we enter the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, we observe how organizational changes related to the introduction of new and modern methodologies are experienced to cope the strong competitiveness that exist in the current market and to satisfy the needs of consumers.
Nowadays, the Design Thinking methodology has become one of the main tools that helps organizations from different fields to adapt specifically to the needs of the client when developing innovative products, applications or solutions, all based on design and engineering approaches, in combination with social and economic sciences.
If we speak about the so-called Industry 4.0, and the technologies that it encompasses, we can find projects that present scenarios where a great uncertainty predominates and where it is imperative to create new products in a constant way. That is why multinational companies have encouraged the use of Design Thinking techniques in all their areas in order to achieve higher levels of innovation and to be totally focused on the customer.
