Análisis sectorial de las empresas de silvicultura en Galicia durante el período 2012-2016

Abstract

This paper analyzes the current situation of the sector Code 02, "Forestry and forestry", in the CNAE 2009, as well as its development and evolution in the short/medium term. A statistical analysis is carried out, based on the information obtained from the SABI database, which includes the annual accounts that the companies deposit in the Mercantile register. Among the parameters studied are the location and size of the company, and between the economic and financial ratios related to income and profitability, among others. All these variables are easy to implement in GIS tools, which allows to add the spatial distribution to the study. The companies analyzed show a clear tendency towards the concentration around the Atlantic axis and the urban centres of greater regional relevance. The analysis of the sector can be summarized in the decrease in the EBITDA of the sector, motivated by the increase of the expenses, and the rise of the leverage, that is derived from a greater external financing. The improvement of the sector must go through a deep restructuring process that includes the exploitation of synergies of the grouping of small companies, or their absorption by others of larger size.
