In this research the impact of the IPMA-certification 4LC system on the employability are analyzed for the first time. The methodology for the evaluation is based on a participative process integrating social information and opinions of experts from different certification1 agents and stakeholders: companies, organizations operating certification systems for persons, trainers, professional certified, public administration and the International organisms. To obtain empirical knowledge and the perception of the stakeholder’s three participatory and complementary instruments were designed: expert interview (to 46 experts); survey of Certified Professional at the international level and, an online survey companies (to 1,010 companies in Spain). The results show that IPMA-certification is seen like a powerful tool to improve the employability. The empirical evidence for the effects are focus on two complementary aspects: on the internal aspects of the companies (internal employability) and, on the external factors in relation to the labor market (external employability). In addition, the IPMA-certification is like a tool to improve the connection between training-employability. Nevertheless, one stands out a lack of information on the certification and a little coordination between actors.
