EVOLUCIÓN DE LA DESIGUALDAD DE LA DISPONIBILIDAD DE ENERGÍA ALIMENTARIA ENTRE PAÍSES: PROPUESTA DE INDICADORES
Resumen
During the last 40 years, an increase of food energy supply has taken place, evolving from 2280 to 2800 kilocalories per capita at world level. However, many voices claim that
this increase in the supply in per capita terms has come together with an increase in the inequality of access at country level. This paper analyses at what extent that claim is a
myth or a fact. By using analogous indicators through which poverty of income at country level is measured – energy lack (extreme or moderate), lack gap or Gini index – to
measure food energy supply, the evolution of inequity of access at country level is analysed.
