Pursuing effective management, execution of simultaneous projects and increasing complexity in the industry are issues that have led to the birth of the Project Management Office (PMO). This article aims to make an industrial and academic research on the theoretical and scientific concepts related to Project Management Office (PMO), inquiring about the types of PMO, functions, methods for implementation, and assessment methodologies to bridge the reality of industrial organizations with the academic knowledge.
Furthermore, we want to know the different ideas that experts can manage to analyze the current situation of industrial organizations and know the maturity level achieved in their businesses regarding Project Management, observe the degree of implementation and knowledge of the main project management practices, shedding light on the knowledge that industrial organizations have about different standards regarding project management.
