The following work presents the methodology followed to develop a new electromagnetic servo-brake, used together with the brake pump to reduce the effort made by the driver in the braking action.
Up to the present, these mechanisms are helped by vacuum, pneumatic pressure or hydraulic pressure. It’s proposed to generate a new servo-brake’s design, which will use the own car’s battery energy; contributing with the demanded pressure and volume, by the use of the electromagnetic laws.
The development team applies the knowledge hoarded by the enterprise in some servobrake models, and to make the most of the knowledge management included in the general management of the enterprise.
The work gives rise to an innovative product, in which the braking system is coupled independently to each one of the wheels, contributing with the needed pressure and volume, depending on the requests of the vehicle-road environment. The new design incorporates an electronic ABS control, which, in this case, will be remarkably simplified.
Furthermore, it will substantially provide with the system features, resorting to different materials from those currently used, in order to reduce their impact on the environment.
