Before the construction of the Ebros’ reservoir (Campóo Valley, Cantabria) this place showed a different appearance. The water of the Ebro river and its tributaries (Hijar, Izarilla, Polla, Proncio, Virga) was channeled by means of dams and canals system to be used like hydraulic power in small factories (water mills, water power stations) that covered the scenary of traditional utilizations. Some of them disappeared when the reservoir was full, another because of a new territory organization, and not many have survived. EBROCANT- 2007 project is a whole of digital information (data base), its aim is to preserve the old order in the landscape and that it helps to understand the present and to project the future.
