| dc.description | Antes de la construcción del embalse del Ebro el valle de Campóo, en la cabecera del río Ebro, presentaba un aspecto diferente. El agua del río Ebro y sus afluentes era conducida mediante presas y canales para ser empleada como fuerza hidráulica en instalaciones pequeñas (molinos, centrales hidroeléctricas) que sembraron el paisaje de aprovechamientos tradicionales. Algunos desaparecieron con el llenado del embalse, otros lo hicieron por la nueva organización territorial y otros han sobrevivido. El proyecto EBROCANT-2007 constituye un fondo de información digital cuyo objetivo es conservar la antigua ordenación y que ello ayude a entender el presente y proyectar el futuro. | dc.description.abstract | Before the construction of the Ebros’ reservoir (Campóo Valley, Cantabria) this place showed a different appearance. The water of the Ebro river and its tributaries (Hijar, Izarilla, Polla, Proncio, Virga) was channeled by means of dams and canals system to be used like hydraulic power in small factories (water mills, water power stations) that covered the scenary of traditional utilizations. Some of them disappeared when the reservoir was full, another because of a new territory organization, and not many have survived. EBROCANT- 2007 project is a whole of digital information (data base), its aim is to preserve the old order in the landscape and that it helps to understand the present and to project the future.
