This article is focused on researching the relationships among three fundamental drivers for successful performance in supply chain management: joint strategies for flexibility, supply chains oriented to customer service, and the innovative capacity of the supply chain.
Within the article a review of the existing literature is made concerning metrics and performance, metrics systems, innovation, flexibility, and customer service within the context of strategic supply chains.
The main features which explain how these strategies could be put into practice are explained within the developed theoretical model. The article focuses on the dyadic
relationship between the manufacturer and its strategic supplier, within the framework of the supply chain for the food and beverages sector.
The research methodology is based upon the execution of a survey addressed to the manufacturing company for collecting data, with the main goal of determining statistically the relationships among the variables within these three drivers.
