MODELO LIVIANO DE MEJORAMIENTO DE PROCESOS PARA EMPRESAS PEQUEÑAS DE DESARROLLO DE SOFTWARE
Resumen
One of the main characteristics of Colombian Software Industry is that it is composed by small companies. These software companies have serious problems of maturity in their developing processes, because most of them, do not apply formal processes which lead to chaotic models of operation, affecting the quality of their products and services. Besides, they have an important challenge to assure the quality of their products, (certified by models as CMMI) so they can meet exporting strategies that are being
promoted. These models of improvement, process and evaluation are suitable for big companies. Nevertheless, these models are difficult to be applied by small companies,
due that these standards imply big investments of money, time and resources, additionally, the difficulty to meet these standards.
Background information about this issue has motivated research, design and implementation of a model to define a plan of improvement of the technical processes that have been adapted from International Standards to be applied to the necessities of software development in small companies (merging companies). This method was validated from a sample of 6 companies representing the small business software industry.
