IMPLANTACIÓN DE UN SISTEMA DE GESTIÓN DE PREVENCIÓN DE RIESGOS LABORALES EN UNA CANTERA DE CALIZA

Abstract

The legislation about Prevention of Occupational Risks obliges to protect the safety and health of workers. One of the tools to integrate the preventive action in the production process and the organization of a company is the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). The implementation of this system in a company allows: - Improve safety of workers’ activity. - Optimize the management of occupational risks to reduce them. - Monitor compliance with current legislation of Occupational Risks Prevention, as well as the requirements or conditions imposed by administrations controlling the company activity. In this work, we identify and relate each of the processes that conform the production cycle of a quarry of limestone for the manufacture of aggregates for the construction. After this, we analyze the hazards for workers in the performance of their respective labor tasks. Finally, we establish measures to mitigate or minimize those risks. Based on this diagnosis, they are prepared the documents required by the regulations for the proper implementation of the Occupational Risks Prevention Management System.
