EVALUACIÓN DE LA SOSTENIBILIDAD DEL FIN DE VIDA DE LOS ENVASES

Abstract

This communication consists of a revision of the indicator systems used to quantify the environmental impact of a process or product, to assess the sustainability of different alternatives of packaging end-of-life. Furthermore, the significance of the business prevention plans (PEP’s) as a tool to evaluate packaging waste is studied. This information has a double interest. On one hand, helping to select the most appropriate treatment technology for the waste generated after the use of a specific type of package and, on the other hand, supporting the selection of materials and packaging techniques to minimize the impact of the generated waste.
