ANÁLISIS DE LA SITUACIÓN DE LA GENERACIÓN Y GESTIÓN DE RESIDUOS DE ENVASE EN ESPAÑA

Abstract

Valorization objectives for packaging waste set to 2008 by the European Union are almost achieved in Spain. However, packaging waste generation continues its rising evolution linked to the economic growth. This paper presents an analysis of the current situation of the packaging waste production in Spain with regard to the rest of waste and its evolution in the last years indicating different factors which affect this evolution. In the other hand, management strategies which are being carried out in several fronts are shown: prevention in packaging waste generation and its material and energy valorization.
