| dc.description | Los objetivos de valorización para los residuos de envase fijados por la Unión Europea para 2008 están a punto de conseguirse en España. Sin embargo, la generación de residuos de envase continúa su evolución creciente ligada al crecimiento económico. Este artículo presenta un análisis del estado actual de la producción de residuos de envase en España respecto al resto de residuos y su evolución en los últimos años indicando los diferentes factores que le afectan. Por otro lado, se muestran también las estrategias de gestión que se están llevando a cabo en varios frentes: la prevención de la generación de residuos de envase y su valorización tanto material como energética. | dc.description.abstract | Valorization objectives for packaging waste set to 2008 by the European Union are almost achieved in Spain. However, packaging waste generation continues its rising evolution linked to the economic growth. This paper presents an analysis of the current situation of the packaging waste production in Spain with regard to the rest of waste and its evolution in the last years indicating different factors which affect this evolution. In the other hand, management strategies which are being carried out in several fronts are shown: prevention in packaging waste generation and its material and energy valorization.
