Student satisfaction surveys are the usual procedure to evaluate the teaching activity of the teaching staff. However, there are many detractors of the use of this tool, who believe that surveys are not valid because they are affected by biases, including gender.
The main objective of this work is to analyze, on the one hand, the situation of women, both students and professors, in the qualifications of the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (ETSII), and check, on the other hand, if the results of the satisfaction surveys of female teachers in the ETSII are comparable to those obtained by male teachers, analyzing whether or not there is a gender bias in the surveys carried out.
In this work, a methodology has been developed to analyze the results of the student satisfaction surveys aimed at determining a possible gender bias. The results of the 2015-2016 course obtained for the degrees and master taught at the ETSII are presented.
