Nowadays, to be a competent professional in innovation and entrepreneurship issues has become a key aspect of personal training. These capabilities have become key in areas such as Engineering and Project Management where complex problem solving, adaptation to change and creativity are part of their routines as well as are needed to successfully undertake certain projects.
Hence, it is a crucial aspect of these professionals’ training to develop not only technical and theoretical knowledge, but also those competencies and skills aimed at become proficient in innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. Training in these areas require new and innovative teaching methods that incorporate the evaluation of the mentioned competencies in the student’s syllabi designing and defining new teaching procedures.
This study is aimed at analyse the procedure to incorporate new and innovating teaching techniques and mechanisms in the Engineering discipline, based (mainly but not solely) in the use and application of new technologies. The progressive incorporation of such mechanisms will allow for (1) the actual involvement of the student in the learning process; (2) the student’s acquisition of innovation and entrepreneurship competencies along the process and (3) a more efficient teaching-learning process after the due adaptation period.
