This article shows a methodology for improving the practical teaching of the Technical Office subject based on the use of the QFD technique. This tool will allow us to know and valuate the educational needs of the students of the School of Engineering and Industrial Design of the UPM, thus constituting the most appropriate way to propose methodological changes that allow educational improvement.
We have surveyed more than 200 students from different specialties and we have valued the learning results that this subject must achieve. With this data, we have made a decision matrix (similar to the house of quality: QFD). This matrix includes the degree of correlation between the WHAT’S (weighted learning outcomes) and the HOW's (teaching and educational resources).
Finally, and based on the previous results, a series of concrete educational improvements are proposed that provide answers to the educational needs of the students and resolve the contradictions between the possible educational resources in a creative way.
