This study analyzes and presents improvement proposals associated with the handling and storage systems of the Cooperativa San Isidro, an olive oil extractor located in the town of Los Villares (Jaén). We describe the processes associated with the manufacture, grinding and storage of the finished product, focusing on the process of maintenance and storage, a key stage in the logistics process.
Analyzed the processes as a whole, we observe that this factory uses a high efficiency extraction system, detecting that the processes of handling and storage of the bottled oil are obsolete, compromising this the results of the company.
One analyzed to the current maintenance and storage systems and their deficiencies, we present a methodology applied using different multicriteria decision techniques (Electra II, AHP) to make the proposal of alternatives that improve this situation. It is at this point, where the improvement alternatives that optimize the maintenance and storage of virgin olive oil bottling and palletizing are presented. Performing a technical and economic viability analysis and selecting the alternative that as a whole and according to the selection criteria defined, improve the supply chain of the company, according to the results obtained with the application of the proposed method
