ANÁLISIS COMPARATIVO DE LA NORMA ISO 22163 CON LA GUÍA DE LOS FUNDAMENTOS PARA LA DIRECCIÓN DE PROYECTOS PMBOK

Abstract

Currently we can say that the companies of the Spanish rail sector occupy the first positions at the international level in the development of railway projects.

To guarantee the quality of the projects, the aerospace sector already had the EN 9100 standard, it was essential that the railway companies develop their projects under a similar norm. The standard demanded by the railway sector has materialized in the "International Railway Industry Standard" IRIS, which has been updated in 2017 as ISO 22163.

The objective of ISO 22163 is to guarantee the quality of the design, manufacture and integration of equipment, materials and systems in the chain of suppliers of a railway project.

The objective of this article is to present the ISO 22163 standard, comparing its project management section with the structure of the PMBOK.

The excellence of the ISO 22163 standard is that it allows the union of the quality management methodology, as established by the ISO 9001 standard, with the project development management methodology, similar to the structure of the PMBOK.
