Recently a new movement in construction project management has come out, bringing fresh air to the sector. This new movement could suppose a complete revolution. The current situation demands for changes, and inspired by the manufacturing industry, construction industry is looking for solutions in the agile management methods, especially in the lean. Lean pursues the main objectives the construction industry is trying to improve currently: efficiency of resources, delivering time and customer value. For these reasons, it has become an ideal ally.
This project analyses the most relevant bibliography in the field in the last decades which has helped to the development of the Lean Construction, starting by the first contributions of Lauri Koskela. It is divided into 3 main blocs: Origins of Lean Construction, most employed tools in Lean Construction and future perspectives in Lean Construction. This research aims to help to understand the state of art of the field and set the bases for future researches which should contribute to the improvement of the Lean Construction.
