The objective of the project "Platform for Mobility Management of the Electric Vehicles" (GEMOVEL) consisted in the promotion of the use of electric vehicles (EV) fleets by public administrations, private companies and public in general. This project was funded, in the framework of the AVANZA 2 program by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, and was developed jointly among the Polytechnic University of Valencia and technology companies such as AMPLIA, NEORIS, SIRSA and EPOCHE.
Present paper shows the optimal configuration developed to ensure the mobility management of EV fleets based on the real-time knowledge of vehicle autonomy. To obtain this data locally, it were used non-intrusive techniques of artificial vision applied to the instrument panel, transmitting the information obtained, together with the geo-positioning of the vehicle, using M2M technologies, applying techniques of communication GPRS and GPS respectively. A communications platform M2M acted as a gateway between the sending device embarked on the EV and the Backoffice, managing the security of communications, the messaging interface and the exchange of information. Finally, the Backoffice was responsible for the processing of information received and offer services through a web page to all GEMOVEL.
