Abstract

The logistics of forage compaction in a bunker silo need a proper coordination of transports and packing devices. The objective is to ensure adequate storage conditions and forage maturity. But the logistics provides agility in the process, avoiding bottlenecks that slow down the whole harvest system. In this paper we analyze the impact of the geometry and slope of the silo access ramp over the performance of the download and silage packing processes. In our trials we monitor the progress of the filling process, relating kg unloaded, the volume of forage without extending and the number of transports waiting with the variation in the silo dimensions silo at all times and ten number of packing and extend equipment involved in the process
