    Abstract
The objective of this lecture is to offer a first approach to the project manager interested in adding the sustainability axis to the classical three pillars of PM, quality, budget and schedule. The main idea is to identify and classify the knowledge areas, management techniques and tools that could assist a project manager´s practice in compliance with the current and future sustainability criteria. The lecture is based upon a revision of the state of the art of sustainable project management. It is divided in four sections:(a) Common concepts related to the sustainable project management, including (but not limited to), ethics, training and certification of the PM, use of the relevant ISO standards, index/indicators, life cycle analysis, ecodesign, corporate social responsibility (b)Product development projects, (c)Infrastructure projects and (d) Mining projects.
