    Abstract
The projects related to the creation of a plant in the chemical industry take implicitly the creation of a laboratory to analyse and control the product and the process that is going to take place in the plant. It is important to make well the part of the project associated with the creation and location of the laboratory, because it will determine not only the work to realizing in the laboratory, but it can affect in the efficiency of the productive process that will take place in the future plant. The laboratories need working areas, warehouse, offices and areas to analysis equipments. The laboratory work will need the adjustment to new analysis technologies, to new equipments. Therefore, it is necessary that the design of these working areas has in consideration all variables to prevent that the laboratory does not transform, with the time, into a tight area, with low levels of safety, and that a modification in its area will be difficult. in addition, a right design and location, during the project, can help to improve the work efficiency and quality of the plant will develop.
