    Resumen
MIVES is a sustainability assessment method based in requirement trees, value functions, indicators weighting and, optionally, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). As a deterministic method, it cannot adequately reflect the uncertainty affecting some of the sustainability indicators. In the same way, MIVES cannot consider the potential subjectivity that could exist when establishing the indicators weighting or the value functions. A possible solution is the construction of hybrid, fuzzy-MIVES models, performing fuzzy mathematical operations on MIVES-type models, for taking into account uncertainty. In this paper the X-Fuzzy system is presented; it is a Microsoft Excel® add-on computer application that, among other potential applications, allows for generating fuzzy-MIVES models. This kind of models should be used all along the project life-cycle, periodically and when uncertainty varies, as a help in making decisions for achieving the sustainability objective of the project. The paper also includes a case study related to the environmental sustainability assessment of a specific structural mass concrete.
