The ravages of global economic crisis in 2008 and 2009, and the new political cycle that started in El Salvador in 2009, were key factors to give priority to food security and nutrition – FSN in that country. Since 2010 spaces for discussion were facilitated to spurring new political and institutional processes such as the formation of FNS National Council and FNS national policy. Implementation of these new political lines presented the challenge of transforming the traditional performance among non-governmental and governmental actors to promote joint actions. This research aimed to identify the most relevant actors within the involved network and to establish the relations required to strengthen projects implementation and improve territorial intervention. Through social network analysis and considering the current FSN structure at national and local level, the health, education and agriculture ministries were identified as the most influential actors; and the need to diversify the presence of actors that connect the territorial levels to avoid the dependency of the network in the governmental sector.
