Foreign energy dependence and environmental sustainability have been two of the major axes on which Spain’s energy policy has pivoted in recent years highlights The bet for the integration into the energy of the renewable energy mix and the efficiency in electricity generation are highlighted as basic instruments of the energy planning, to reduce external dependency and achieve the commitments made at the signing of the Kyoto Protocol regarding the reduction of greenhouse gases,
The current situation, as well as the evolution of photovoltaic installations in Spain is the result of the successive policy changes that have been produced over the past years.
The subject of the presentation will be the evolution of the European legislation on renewable energies, and more specifically on renewable energy and how such regulations have been adopted by the Spanish legislation.
In the analysis of the European and Spanish legislation aspects related to the legal regime, national objectives, support mechanisms and the access to networks of facilities that produce electricity from renewable energy sources wll be taken into account .
