A modular system based on ceramic elements for the construction of ventilated facades which allows to develop vertical gardens of plant species is presented. The aim is to transfer the temperature and humidity of the soil and plants, provided through the ceramic containers envelope proposed system, lowering the temperature of the chamber and thus the air content can be exploited to the air conditioning of the building.
The previous phases of design and prototyping have been developed. At present, phases of testing and monitoring results are testing, in order to characterize and achieve system efficiency. For this study physical behaviour of a prototype is being monitored.
This study intends to contribute to technological development of green facades systems within the strategy to achieve greater environmental efficiency of buildings.
