    Abstract
The removal of leachate is important cost in solid waste sanitary landfills. On the other hand, generated biogas from anaerobic fermentation of wastes, used to be bunt in a torch, according to rules (Directiva 1999/31/CE and Real Decreto 1481/2001). So, the biogas is not exploited. In this work, a evaporation system is presented in order to reduce the volumen of leachates from a sanitary landfill. For that, different evaporations methods have been compared. Next, the optimum system has been chosen and a economic study has been analyzed. The chosen system (direct contact evaporator in an evaporation column) consisto on a boiler, direct contact evaporator and gas-liquid exchanger. Furthermore, it is posible to take profit of biogás or apply natural gas as a power source in the case that biogás was not enought.
