The Norma Granada is a method to value ornamental trees widely used in Spain. The 2006 edition meant a profound transformation of the methodology of the previous edition (1999). In previous editions very high values were obtained in small or medium sized trees a while very low values were obtained in exceptionally large trees.
This work deepens our knowledge of the Norma Granada describing quantitatively the differences between the editions of 1999 and 2006, carrying out theoretical and practical comparison between the basic and final values calculated by both editions, based on actual market prices and assuming the assumption of perfect tree.
The results show the great difference between the two editions reaching differences of 2700% in small and medium-sized trees. A great difference was also observed in the value evolution according to the tree growth.
