    Abstract
The current trend in the construction sector has led in recent years to the search for new methods of planning, monitoring and controlling, in order to establish more effective results in the supervision of works, avoiding the so frequent changes in costs and schedules of projects that generate an increasingly growing concern. The aim of this paper is to analyze the possibilities presented by the critical chain method in the civil engineering scope, to understand situations, needs or problems arising from their employment as we work with this method in the real environment of a work, from its beginning till its conclusion, eliminating the traditional vision of returning to the scheduled time planned and focusing the efforts to complete the entire project by the deadline. After examining the obtained results, it is intended to present the model supported by the critical chain method as an effective, supple and focused control mechanism for future projects.
