    Abstract
    The dynamic global economic environment has prompted industry organizations to seek ways to generate value through its assets. Therefore, investing great efforts and resources to identify, evaluate, propose and implement methodologies and tools to enable them to respond to the complex problems and effective decisions, involving a high impact in different areas of the organization such as: safety, environment, operations, maintenance, engineering, among others. Therefore, development of a methodology focused on optimizing asset management intends, considering an optimal balance cost - risk - benefit, to define the criteria for justifying the appropriate decision-making among the different existing alternatives, strategies for the replacement of assets during their life cycle. In this sense it is used as a reference to ISO 55001 standard, which raises a number of requirements necessary to contribute to sustainability, profitability and resilience of the organization
