In this work we have performed an epistemology study of risk management (RM) in projects. For this purpose we have followed a widely proven methodology which allows a systematic review of the content, scope, methodology and administrative support (design and development of research). This helps define the object of study, as well as identify, analyze and rule out different publications in the field of RM in the projects, according to the criteria recommended by the mentioned methodology.
From 4515 publications of the six major scientific journals (indexed) between 2000-2015, 146 were selected as the more relevant for this research. The result of this article is an innovative contribution in the field of Project Management, whose development throughout the 20th century has been based on the identification and selection of the better professional practices.
