One of the aim objectives of the subject of Engineering Graphics is to improve the skills of students in spatial vision capability, apart from providing expertise in metric and descriptive geometry. In this subject, common to several engineering degrees, the visualization ability is a key factor, since students are required to interpret the real object from different two-dimensional representation systems. However, a huge number of students have problems at this level, because of two reasons: they have not been trained at this issue before or this training has not been oriented to enhance their reflection and interpretation. As a consequence a high failure rate has been traditionally registered. By making the interpretation of the object easier, it is expected to improve the educational level. This study shows the implementation and the results of the application of a method in order to interpret an object. It consists of using the 3D tools of the software AutoCAD®, which is the one used within the subject, in order to model the object “face by face”. It is intended that the student who does not have the skill to understand immediately the object, could do it step by step through its construction by faces.
