Along the last decade, the energy interests of most industrialized countries have focused mainly on a reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases, along with a series of policies focused on the promotion of renewable sources decreasing the energy dependence with third countries. Within these uses of natural resources, this paper aims to analyze from an environmental and economic impact that involves the integration of biomass into industrial parks to provide cold/heat for industrial processes. Specifically, we have developed a study from the point of view of economic and environmental advantages would the use of indigenous biomass to reduce electricity demand in the industrial sector, especially in those procedures that have remarkable needs for cold/heat. This analysis includes the case study developed under the European project Enering Life +, real example of integration of this resource. Results of socio-economic and environmental impact of this real case and its extrapolation to the industrial sector of the Region of Murcia are also included in this paper.
