ESTUDIO DE LA ELECTRIFICACIÓN INICIAL DE LA COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA

Abstract

There is a renewed focus on the industrialization of Valencian Community. In this context it is of particular relevance the birth and first steps of the electric sector. The region's own economic circumstances and the Spain situation in the late nineteenth century, the introduction of technological developments related to the electricity and its industry, the particular land orography, the nature of the first generation facilities and the type of the early customers are identified and described in this article as the key factors that make up the process. Finally the concentration process of the generation and distribution companies is reported, concluding with the identification of an implementation model that was repeated throughout the region.
