The main objective of this research is to create a new model for the quantification of construction and demolition waste generated during the transformation of rural land into urban state. The work starts with the quantification model developed in the research group ARDITEC, which uses coefficients for the calculation of the quantities and types of waste generated during construction works. Five actual projects are studied, and the results are extrapolated to any urbanization work. The present work identifies two types of waste, soils and trees, which represent over 90 percent of the total waste during urbanization works. This implies that both residues shall be accurately predicted. The present work proposes coefficients which depend on the plot size, the type and density of the trees, or the project characteristics such as industrial or residential usage. Finally, the total amount of waste expected can be predicted, this facilitate the management and control. A tool is created for the accurate quantification, by means of simple calculations. The work will be part of future research on the environmental impact caused by the land transformations.
